Spring term
After half term in February the Streamvale Roadshow sets out and about. Using a unique mix of real animals, toys, stories and songs we bring the whole topic of New Life and Springtime right into your classroom. This presentation can be developed for all Foundation Stage Areas of Learning and we provide follow up ideas to help you with this.
Summer Term
This is our main time for schools to visit us. We have a well established tour which includes such areas as.
- The Chicks
- The Nature Trail
- The Milking Parlour
- The Pet's Corner
- Morning Break
…and many more, depending on what is available on the day and what interests your group. We are happy to incorporate other features to match your group's specific needs - just let us know beforehand.
Worksheets are available for download here
Playtime
We have a number of play areas which have open access at lunchtimes - these can not be prebooked, but with cooperation, can be shared by all.
Eating at the Farm
We provide a mid morning break as part of the tour. These are designated areas and you will be advised to wash hands before eating.
Health and Safety
We have a health and safety policy which is available for download from here. We also have a detailed risk assessment for school visits, which can be emailed on request. The HSE guidelines can be downloaded from here

Autumn Term
Harvest Road Show
Using the same set up as the Spring Road show we explain the importance of food and farming in daily life. The stories, songs toys and animals all relate directly to the topic and again follow up ideas are provided.
School Visits
Autumn is a quieter time and so great for teachers who wish to work on specific ideas and themes. We can work with your needs and adapt the tour for your children. Specialised topics can include
- Food and Farming
- Dairying
- Ice Cream making
- Animal Care
And we would love to work along with your ideas to create a tailor made trip.
Please note the whole Open Farm is accessible, including play areas.
Christmas Story Ride.
During December we provide a very special trip with a magical story and tractor ride, a walk to see and feed the deer and a trip to see Santa. This lasts approximately one hour. Please note the Open Farm Area is restricted to the lower yard where the animals are all ready for Christmas!
All the above activities must be pre-booked.
There is a booking form here
We are very happy for you to use any of the resources on our web site. We would draw you attention to the NEWS PAGE - especially during calving time when you can track the progress of our dairy herd.
